Friday Dog Blog

Happy Friday Dog Lovers! Cat L0vers…I hope you have to work all weekend!

Kicking it off with this sad yet hopeful story out of California. A Wolf Hybrid was found wondering the streets looking very disheveled and eventually rescued by Hope for Paws.

"The first picture of Julia.""Julia had an old rope tied to her which indicates to me that someone owned and neglected her to a criminal level... this poor girl was so swollen from infections, she was bleeding, pus was oozing from everywhere, and it's hard to see because of this coat, but she is just skin and bones."

Long story short Julia here was in some pretty bad shape and had evidence of some severe abuse from her previous owner. Yet she was very brave and accepting of the rescuers who were only trying to help. So often you see dogs nervous and even violent towards people after being abused but Julia was different. She is still recovering (quickly) and is as loving as ever. They say you can see her calm soul in her eyes and I cannot agree more. Julia you keep being you girl. Those eyes are destined to make some future owners very very happy.

NHL Update: 1st Round Review & 2nd Round Preview

1st round review

Caps over the flyers 4-2

Flyers went down 3-0 and made a valiant effort to make a series of it but everyone knew who would come out of this match up. Caps fans have to be worried though losing 2 out of the last 3 with the talented Pittsburgh Penguins coming to town. A team that has absolutely owned them in the playoffs. Oh not to mention the Caps haven’t made it past the 2nd round in years…There is real concern for this season’s best team.

Penguins over the Rangers 4-2

The Pens went into MSG and got the job done. Something that has been a particularly difficult thing to do in recent years. I guess it helps that the rangers were beating themselves up and down the ice that whole series. I mean the King got a friendly fire shot to the eye which left his beautiful mug marred for the rest of the series. Everyone knows the better you look, the better you play. It’s gotta be hard to play with confidence when you are walking around with a shiner like that. Continue reading “NHL Update: 1st Round Review & 2nd Round Preview”

Dr. James Andrews say UCLA LB Myles Jack WONT need microfracture surgery

Whoops! If this isn’t the epitome of, “a day late and a dollar short”, than I don’t what is. Myles Jack was projected by pretty much everyone to be the first defensive player taken in this draft before he injured his knee during the season. Even still he was going to go somewhere in the first round. That was until two days ago when Jack himself mentioned to reporters that he was probably going to need microfracture surgery at some point. That little tidbit, which I still have no idea why the hell he would announce, caused Jack to fall completely out of the first round last night. Then low and behold! The big swinging dick at the surgery factory, Dr. James Andrews, comes out and tells everyone that actually Jack isn’t going to need the surgery after all. Thanks a lot Dr. Andrews, coulda used that little piece of intel about 24 hours ago my guy! So safe to say Jack will likely be one of the first players off the board when the 2nd round begins tonight. Let’s take a look at the difference in paycheck between getting drafted in the top 3 and getting take in the 2nd round. Laremy Tunsil had a pretty interesting Draft Night, huh?

If you watched any of the NFL Draft last night (still hate that they moved it from being a weekend thing) you know that Ole Miss. left tackle Laremy Tunsil was the story of the night. Tunsil went into the night projected to be no worse than a Top 5 pick, most had him pegged going somewhere in the Top 3, and everyone pretty much agreed that he had #1 overall talent. However he did have some issues in the past. At one point he was arrested for getting in a fight with his stepdad, and was also suspended for most of his last season at Ole Miss for NCAA violations. Regardless of those he was still looking good heading into last night. Welp that all changed about 10 minutes prior to the draft starting when someone tweeted the following video from Tunsil’s own Twitter account.
